Earlier this year I wrote about Cathay Pacific offering flights to Zurich. While it’s a great offering, I didn’t think Economy was necessarily that much better than what you’d get on Swiss anyway (business is a different story).
However, the route to Zurich and the route to Manchester seems to be selling at HK$5640 in Economy (and it’s fair, as 777-300ERs on Cathay have quite a good cabin product).
It’s worth noting, though, that only certain dates get this fare, but as they revolve around the Easter period (you can find the dates here), it’s a great deal to take advantage of. (Please take note – even I muddled myself up just now – that these procedures are one-way.)
That’s just a little more than economy fare was listed to Singapore during Easter…
The catch is that for the fare you have to transit via London Heathrow – if you don’t, it’ll cost you ~HK$7500, a little more but still a fare to grab.
It’s not like the taxes take away the reason of booking the flight, either:
The London deal is there because you can get a direct flight via Saver. The fares are actually cheaper than going to Zurich or Manchester, and you get a lot more Asia Miles…woah!
I’d say this is a better way to earn Asia Miles (2,800-6,000) than my five “best ways to earn Asia Miles” – spend some time around Europe for as much money as one would probably spend for a Sapporo flight!
So for European travellers looking for Swiss or English destinations, here’s your chance – act fast before the deal goes!
(If there are any other cheap fares, let me know.)
